The LavaTherm 2 Port Motorised Zone Valve is a 22 mm two port valve for controlling a single heating or hot water circuit in a domestic wet central heating system. It is the standard building block of an S Plan layout, where one valve serves the radiator circuit and a second serves the hot water cylinder, each opened independently by its own room thermostat or cylinder stat.

The valve is supplied complete with its 230 V AC motorised actuator head already fitted, so there is no need to buy a head separately. When the actuator is energised the motor drives the valve open against a return spring. Once the valve reaches the fully open position an auxiliary switch makes, passing a switched live on to fire the boiler and run the pump. When the call for heat is satisfied the actuator is de-energised and the spring returns the valve to the closed position, isolating the circuit.

A manual lever on the head allows the valve to be held open by hand for filling, venting or commissioning, releasing back to automatic operation afterwards.

The actuator head is a separate assembly held on the valve body by two screws. If the head ever fails it can be replaced on its own, without draining the system down or disturbing the soldered or compression joints in the pipework. Replacement LavaTherm actuator heads are available separately.

Suitable for installation by a competent heating engineer. All electrical work must be carried out in accordance with current wiring regulations.
