Electric Water Heaters & Towel Rail Elements

Point-of-use electric water heaters for a single sink or basin, where running a feed from the boiler is not practical – kitchens, utility rooms, cloakrooms, workshops and outbuildings. Three unvented under sink water heaters in 10 and 15 litre, all 2kW: the Ariston Andris Lux EP10 at £118 with a 17-minute reheat, the EP15 at £132 with a 26-minute recovery, and the Elson EUV15 at £95.99, which adjusts from 12°C to 72°C and supplies two to three basins or a kitchen sink plus a hand basin. For a single outlet with no tank at all, the Redring PowerStream RPS95 is a 9.5kW instant water heater.

Alongside those we stock genuine Kartell K-Rad dual fuel towel rail elements in 300W and 600W, in chrome, matt black and anthracite, each with an integrated thermostat adjustable from 45°C to 65°C, a one to five hour boost, a 1.5m fly lead and an IPX4 splash rating. You will also find Flamco Baseflex expansion vessels in 12, 18 and 25 litre with 3 bar sealed system kits. Trade prices, same-day dispatch on orders before 1pm.

All three storage heaters are unvented and must be installed by a competent person. Not sure what your outlet needs? Get in touch and we’ll help you find the right part.

Electric Water Heaters – FAQs

What size undersink water heater do I need?
The Elson EUV15 at 15 litres is designed to supply two to three basins, or one kitchen sink plus one hand basin. The Ariston EP10 and EP15 are both intended for a single sink or basin. Nothing in this range is sized for whole-property or multi-outlet use.
Can an undersink water heater run a shower?
No. The Elson EUV15 is specifically not recommended for supplying a shower, and the Redring instant heater is not suitable for baths, high-volume kitchen use or whole-property supply. These are point-of-use units for basins and sinks.
What is the difference between an instant and a stored water heater?
An instant heater like the Redring RPS95 heats water as it flows through, so there is no tank and no waiting, but output depends on flow rate – the slower the flow, the hotter the water. A stored heater keeps 10 or 15 litres hot and ready, then reheats.
What electrical supply does the 9.5kW instant water heater need?
A 40 amp fuse, 6mm² cable and an appropriate isolator switch, installed by a qualified professional. It is not a plug-in appliance.
Can I use an instant water heater with a mixer tap?
No. The Redring PowerStream RPS95 must be used with individual pillar taps rather than a mixer.
How long does an undersink water heater take to reheat?
The Ariston Andris Lux EP10 has a 17-minute reheat time and the EP15 a 26-minute recovery.
Do I need an expansion vessel or G3 kit with an unvented water heater?
Possibly, depending on your existing setup. The Ariston units may need standard installation kits such as an expansion vessel and pressure reducing valve to comply with Building Regulations G3. The Elson EUV15 ships with a pressure relief valve, electrolytic connectors and wall fixings included.
What does a dual fuel towel rail element do, and does it include a thermostat?
It lets you run the rail off your central heating in winter and electrically on its own in summer, when the heating is off but you still want warm towels. The thermostat is integral – adjustable 45°C to 65°C with a one to five hour boost and timer – and each element comes with a 1.5m fly lead and fixings. They are colour-matched to Kartell K-Rad towel rails.
Can I install an electric water heater myself?
Not the water heaters. Unvented units must be installed, commissioned and maintained by a competent person, and unvented work is controlled under Building Regulations G3. The Redring instant heater needs a qualified professional for its 40 amp supply. Towel rail elements are bathroom electrical work and notifiable under Part P in England and Wales.
