Central Heating Controls

Our central heating controls run from a £23.99 dial thermostat up to six-zone underfloor heating packs. The depth is in ENGO and Heatmiser – wired and wireless room thermostats, 12V and 230V wiring centres, hubs and app control – alongside replacement programmers and thermostats from Honeywell, Danfoss, Drayton, Siemens, Secure and Delta Dore.

Most controls get bought because one has failed, so we stock the swaps that do not mean rewiring: programmers that clip straight onto an existing Honeywell ST9400C or ST9100C backplate, wireless stats that re-bind to the BDR91 receiver already on your wall, and 2-wire room thermostats that drop into a Danfoss TP5000Si or Honeywell CM907 position. For new work there are 4 to 8 zone wiring centres, 868MHz and Zigbee wireless thermostats with up to 100m range, and Boiler Plus compliant models. Trade prices, same-day dispatch on orders before 1pm.

Central Heating Controls – FAQs

What replaces a Honeywell ST9400C programmer?
Our 7 Day 2 Channel Heating Programmer is a direct replacement – it clips onto the existing ST9400C backplate with no wiring changes. It also replaces the ST699, ST799, ST7100, ST6200, ST6300 and ST6400 with a simple wiring change at the backplate.
My Honeywell CM927 thermostat has failed – do I need a new receiver too?
No. Both our Honeywell CM927 replacement and the Center wireless programmable thermostat pair to the BDR91 receiver already on your wall, so it is a wire-free swap. The same applies to the DT92 – the TotalHome TTHWFD replaces it and binds to the original BDR91.
What replaces a Danfoss FP715Si programmer?
The Danfoss FP720 V2. It attaches directly to the existing FP715Si backplate with no rewiring on a like-for-like change. It is FP715Si-specific – it is not a universal fit for other models.
What replaces a Horstmann H37XL or ChannelPlus programmer?
The Secure H3747 uses a standard 9-pin backplate to retrofit the H37XL and H47XL, and also replaces the 425 Tiara, 425 Diadem, 425 Coronet, H17XL and H27XL. For CentaurPlus and ServicePlus units, the Secure C1727 uses the same 6-pin wall plate with minor wiring changes.
My room thermostat only has two wires – what can I fit?
The ENGO E901 at £28.99 is designed to directly replace 2-wire battery powered thermostats, including the Danfoss TP5000Si and the Honeywell CM907.
Which thermostats work with an S-plan or Y-plan system?
The Honeywell T6R is the one in this range that states it: it is compatible with Sundial S, Y and W plan stored hot water systems, and with OpenTherm appliances including gas boilers and heat pumps. Most other controls here are for a single heating zone or work through a wiring centre.
How far will a wireless thermostat work from its receiver?
It varies by model. ENGO and Heatmiser RF models are rated up to 100m in open space on 868MHz, Delta Dore up to 300m, the Honeywell T6R 30m, and the Siemens RDJ100RF 20m line of sight. Walls, foil-backed insulation and steel work all reduce it.
Do I need a hub for a Heatmiser Neo or ENGO Zigbee thermostat?
Yes. Heatmiser Neo devices need a neoHub, which plugs into your router by Ethernet and supports up to 32 devices. ENGO Zigbee thermostats are managed through the ENGO EGATE-PRO gateway. Both are sold separately unless you buy a bundle.
Which heating controls work with electric underfloor heating?
Only the electric-specific ones – the Heatmiser NeoStat-E and the LavaTherm, which ships with a 3m floor sensor. Several others are explicitly not suitable, including the NeoStat 12v, the Slimline v4 and the Honeywell T6R.
