Fernox heat pump ancillaries for air source and ground source systems. Heat transfer fluid in two frost bands – HP-5c protects from -4°C to -14°C, HP-15c from -14°C to -34°C – both concentrated, non-toxic, suitable for underfloor heating as well as heat pumps, and both protecting against corrosion and limescale. HP-5c comes in 10 and 20 litre, HP-15c in 20 litre.
There are two ways to protect a heat pump from freezing, and they are alternatives rather than a pair. Dose the system with glycol, or fit a TF1 antifreeze valve – a brass valve for water-based systems carrying no glycol, which opens automatically below 3°C and releases system water before ice can form, available in 28mm and 1¼" BSP. Completing the range, the TF1 Sigma HP is a 28mm heat pump filter using Fernox’s Flow Disruptor design to trap debris at high flow rates, rated for glycol concentrations up to 50% and serviced through a drain valve without dismantling.
