Item and service were as described. All good. Unfortunately the item has not solved the banging issue.

I needed to buy a hammer arrestor valve because my new washing machine the pressure of the solenoids opening and closing during cycles where casing my water pipes to shave and vibrate but it works perfectly and reduces the noise easy install would highly recommend fantastic value for money I thought it wasn’t going to be strong enough but it’s durable to handle the loads it’s under

This is such a simple, but complex component but the effect on the water system is amazing. So quiet after installation. Would certainly recommend it, with thanks to Midbrass, no more noise. From a satisfied customer. Well worth the money.

I got this to reduce the hammering sound in near the boiler. It work great for one day when the install installed, but I can still hear the hammer sound. I'm not sure if I did something wrong by installing it in the wrong side. The engineer had done it when the wireless service was carried. It was easy to install and easy to feed so just using compression or threaded

Easy to fit. Could be fitted to dishwasher, toilet cistern inlet. Does the job well. Can be fitted horizontal.If necessary, a unit could be fitted either end of the washing machine flexible inlet pipe. Used a spanner to fit (used adjustable), but if you have a good hand grip, it's possible to tighten it using a hand, just as you would the original flexible hose.

Great item - Had bad water hammer due the washing machine solenoid being vigorous. So decided to take a chance on this - even though it seems to have mixed reviews.Easy to fit with its brass fittings - only took around 5 minutes (and that included moving the machine to get at the pipework etc.)Did the job, and the noise has seemed to have disappeared. Give it a try at this price, as its a no brainer with Amazon's great returns policy if it does not work for you.

Had bought a new washing machine and the noise from the pipes with the new one was worrying so bought this. Item seems well made, was quite easy to fit and I'm not a DIY person at all. It has made a huge difference with noise from pipes when washing machine fills with water. There's still a slight noise.Update: by end of April the banging was back and it seems like as some other reviews have said it doesn't last unfortunately which is a shame. Will try the Sioux chef version to replace it

At the moment, I'm about a week into using it and it's been great.I fitted it right to the rear of a washing machine that I realised was the only culprit in causing a pipe bang that I could hear in the bathroom. I wanted to reduce that so I didn't risk breaking a joint in a water pipe somewhere inaccessible.Installed it to the washing machine and it perfectly stuck out just behind the actual machine without adding any real sizeable depth to the thing (probably 2cm max once installed, because the washing machine hose inlet was in a slight recess). Installed the pipe back onto the arrestor instead of the machine, and it worked straight away.Left it running out in the open for the first day, just in case, but apart from some strange noises (a kind of gentle fizzing in the arrestor when filling) the bangs are now more a gentle tap even if you have your ear right up against it, and they don't carry through the pipework at all. The washing machine was unaffected and worked normally, but no more thud, thud, thud late at night (especially on a long cycle when it thuds every 10 seconds or so for some reason, it was really quite scary how much that was hitting the pipes under the shower in the next room, especially late at night).I think my neighbours will be thanking me. Even if it lasts only six months, I don't care, I'll buy another. It's far better than destroying some ancient soldered copper pipe joint underneath an almost inaccessible marble shower / bathroom with the thudding.Note that it simply won't work if you put it too far away from the washing machine inlet, or if you're hoping it'll cure other causes of hammer (e.g. air trapped in the pipework). But it cured my washing machine hammer which was as concerning levels.

The first one 1 bought didn't fit as the provider didn't say it was for the US market only. This one fitted a treat with no problems. Yet to see if it will work when we use the washing machine but I am sure it will help.

The water hammer was easy to fit and has done its job well so far. No more noisy clonking and potential damage to pipes. Thank you!
