The LavaTherm 22mm Magnetic Filter (BFMBC-BLK22) tackles the most common cause of heating system failure: black iron oxide sludge. Without an effective filter, magnetite circulates through your radiators and settles in the boiler's heat exchanger and the circulating pump, causing premature wear and pushing up energy bills.

Fitted on the return leg, the filter traps those particles before they reach the boiler, keeping the circuit cleaner and the system working as it should. A high-strength magnet sits inside a reinforced nylon body, compact enough for modern installations where there is little room under the boiler. It can be fitted to horizontal or vertical pipework, so it goes where the pipe run allows rather than dictating it.

Servicing is a quick job at the annual check. The magnet lifts out for cleaning and the supplied drain-off adaptor lets you empty the chamber without bypassing the system. The access point also serves as a dosing port for adding inhibitor or cleanser, saving a separate operation.
