The LavaTap HP22 is a complete 22 mm two port motorised zone valve for domestic and light commercial heating circuits. It is supplied as a matched set, the HPV22 brass shoe valve body together with the Danfoss HPA2 spring return actuator, so there is no separate head to order. The actuator fits to the body on site using the screws supplied, which keeps the valve serviceable later without disturbing the pipework. This is the point worth checking before you buy: many products in this category are the actuator head only, and the difference is not obvious until the parcel arrives. The HP22 is the whole valve. A worn, seized or leaking valve is replaced in one go, and if only the head fails later the HPA2 can be changed on its own. In an S plan system a pair of two port valves gives the radiator circuit and the hot water cylinder independent control, so each zone only draws heat when its thermostat calls for it. Connections are 22 mm external compression to suit standard UK copper pipework, flow through the body can run in either direction, and the high capacity body carries two self cleaning positive shut off shoes. The actuator is normally closed with spring return, so removing power returns the valve to closed. A manual lever opens it by hand for filling, draining and commissioning. One metre of cable is supplied in standard colours, brown live, blue neutral, grey and orange, with a volt free SPST auxiliary switch to bring on the boiler and pump through the wiring centre.
