- 15mm Pipe Inserts, 100 Pack: LavaPlumb pipe inserts for 15mm plastic plumbing pipe, supplied in a bulk trade pack of 100
- Required For Plastic Pipe: An insert must be fitted into the end of plastic pipe before it goes into a push fit or compression fitting
- Supports The Pipe Bore: The insert holds the pipe round and rigid, so the fitting's O-ring seals against a firm pipe wall and the grab ring can grip properly
- Helps Prevent Weeping Joints: Without an insert, plastic pipe can deform under the grip of the fitting, a common cause of joints that weep after commissioning
- For PB and PEX Barrier Pipe: Suitable for polybutylene and PEX barrier pipe on hot and cold water and central heating
- Trade Quantity: A pack of 100 keeps a supply on the van, so you are never short of the one part that stops a joint sealing
LavaPlumb 15mm pipe inserts, supplied in a trade pack of 100. Inserts are a small but essential part of any plastic plumbing installation.
When plastic pipe is pushed into a push fit or compression fitting, the grab ring bites down on the outside of the pipe and the O-ring seals against it. Plastic pipe on its own can flex or deform under that pressure. The insert sits inside the end of the pipe and holds it round and rigid, so the seal is made against a firm surface and the joint stays watertight.
Inserts must be used with polybutylene (PB) and PEX barrier pipe. They are not needed for copper. Fitting one takes seconds: cut the pipe square, de-burr it, then push the insert fully home before making the joint.
Supplied as a pack of 100 for 15mm pipe.
