When to choose 45 degrees over 90:  A 45 degree elbow gives a less abrupt direction change, which can be preferable where pipework needs to clear an obstacle gradually, or where two 45 degree elbows used in opposing directions create a clean parallel offset to bypass a beam, joist, or other obstruction.  EPDM O-Ring on both ends: Deburr the pipe end and insert to depth before pressing. A pipe end with a burr is the most common cause of O-ring damage and a leaking press fit joint.
